At Mission Point Resort, cleanliness, sustainability, and guest experience go hand in hand. As Mackinac Island’s only full-service, casually elegant resort, we are seeking a hardworking and reliable Recycling Attendant to support daily waste management operations and uphold our commitment to environmental stewardship.
About the Role
The Recycling Attendant plays a vital part in resort operations by ensuring all waste, recycling, and compost materials are collected, sorted, and disposed of safely and efficiently. This role is highly physical and requires consistent attention to detail, strong time management, and a proactive approach to keeping resort grounds and facilities clean and guest-ready.
You’ll work in a diverse, multicultural environment where dependability, teamwork, and a positive attitude are essential. Success in this role comes from taking pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and environmentally responsible resort.

QualificationsWhat We’re Looking For

Experience: Previous experience in custodial, groundskeeping, facilities, or waste management is helpful but not required
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Work Ethic: Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical Ability: Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs., working outdoors in varying weather, and performing repetitive physical tasks
- Safety Awareness: Understanding of safe equipment use and proper handling of waste and recycling materials
- Professional Traits: Strong attention to detail, dependability, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
- Communication: Ability to follow verbal and written instructions clearly
- Location Requirement: Must be able to live and work on Mackinac Island during the season
