Recycler Technician (Requires LGV Category C licence).
Location: We currently have a vacancy for a Recycler Technician to join our Customer Field Services department with our Waste Service Delivery Business Unit area in the Sheffield area Successful applicants need to be within a 30-minute commute from our Blackburn Meadows wastewater treatment works.
Work type: These is a permanent opportunity, working 37 hours per week, working rotational work patterns to cover 24/7 working. You will be required to travel to different operational sites across the region; therefore, a full valid driving licence (no more than 6 points), a LGV licence Category C and ideally a driver DCPC is required.

Where you fit:
As a Recycler Technician, you will be required to work alongside the Recycler Assistant for support but will also be required to work closely with other Yorkshire Water teams on site, to undertake planned, reactive cleaning and pollution prevention works, in a way which minimises impact and maximises benefits.
To operate a Jet-Vac in a safe and optimal way, to maintain Wastewater and Energy & Recycling assets, tanks and wet wells.
You will ensure Health and Safety working practices & procedures of the Jet-Vac operation are always complied with to ensure compliance with the Yorkshire Water Safety Policy. You will work as part of a team to deliver excellent performance by understanding how your individual performance links into achieving the team’s wider objectives and optimise the outputs of the vehicle.
You will ensure all training requirements are met and kept in date to operate the vehicle safely and carry out the task at hand, to ensure you are compliant with driving regulations and the high working standards laid down at Yorkshire Water including but not exclusively, Working at Heights, Safe Entry into Confined Spaces and High-Pressure Water Jetting.
You will need to maintain high standards for the sites which you work on and the vehicles which you operate, ensuring it is always fit for purpose. You will need to maintain the vehicle and equipment to ensure its reliability and efficiency, reporting all defects to be repaired as soon as possible.
You will have a flexible attitude to your work as you will be working a variety of rotas in the role to cover our working window. Once fully trained in the role you may be asked to take part in an out of hour’s standby rota, therefore flexibility is an essential requirement of this role.
As part of this role, you will be required to work within confined spaces, any successful candidate must pass strict medical criteria including, BMI, vision, blood pressure, hearing, and Spirometry tests to ensure your full safety when working in hazardous environments.
