Job Description

Core Duties & Responsibilities

• Preventive Maintenance (PM): Conducts scheduled inspections, greases bearings, tightens belts, and replaces worn-out components to prevent unexpected breakdowns.
• Equipment Repair & Rebuilding: Troubleshoots, repairs, or rebuilds major MRF machinery, including:
• Electrical & Controls Troubleshooting: Diagnoses motor drives, electrical panels, sensors, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) (often with the help of electrical specialists).
• Safety & Compliance: Follows OSHA guidelines, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols, and company life-critical safety rules.
• Documentation: Logs daily equipment inspections (DEI), tracks maintenance backlogs, and orders replacement parts and supplies.

Qualifications

Typical Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent; technical school certification or vocational training in industrial maintenance is strongly preferred.
• Experience: 2 to 5+ years of hands-on industrial mechanical or maintenance experience in a manufacturing, heavy-equipment, or recycling plant setting.
• Technical Skills:
• Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50+ pounds, stand, walk, crawl, bend, climb ladders, and work in varied indoor/outdoor industrial plant environments.
