Recycle Center Forklift Operator

Victory Millwork

Location: Lynden, WA

Role:As a member of the Recycle Center, this position is responsible for efficiently transporting, sorting, and processing rejected materials to meet the growing demands of our customers. This role involves working outdoors year-round, operating forklifts, conveyors, grinders and actively assisting with other Recycle Center operations.

Location: Victory Millwork is located at - 2077 Main Street, Lynden WA 98264

HOURS: Full-Time, 5:30am- 4:30pm, M-F. Occasional Saturday.

Wage: $20.50-$22.50 DOE

Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize the safe operation of the forklift, ensuring the well-being of yourself and fellow

    team members.
  • Transport rejected or waste material to and from the Recycle Center.
  • Monitor staging areas and bin levels to help ensure continuous operation of work centers.
  • Empty and return bins throughout the day to keep up with production demands.
  • Sort and process rejected materials in accordance with Recycle Center guidelines.
  • Load pallets, door skins and other materials onto trailers in a safe manner.
  • Report mechanical issues with forklifts, conveyors, or grinders to your supervisor immediately.
  • Ability to learn and operate various forklifts as needed (counterbalance, telehandler, etc.).
  • Ensure a clean and organized work environment by regularly maintaining the recycle center and surrounding areas.

Experience, Required and Preferred:

  • Positive attitude, servant's heart, flexible and adaptable.
  • Previous sit-down counterbalance forklift experience (propane and electric).
  • Previous telehandler experience preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of and experience with general production safety requirements, procedures, and protection equipment.
  • Capable of bending, stooping, kneeling, walking, and lifting 50+ lbs.
  • Ability to work well with employees with varying skill sets.
  • Self-starter and works well independently.
  • High moral integrity.
  • Reliable and consistent daily attendance.
  • Committed to teamwork, contribution, growth, and success.
  • Trustworthy and consistently completes task deadlines.

REPORTING TO: Position reports directly to work area Supervisor.
