Up to £36,000 plus uncapped bonus

The Opportunity

Reed Swindon is expanding its Sales Division and looking for a commercially driven Recruitment Consultant to manage and grow a regional desk within the engineering and manufacturing sector.


This role will suit professionals who thrive on building long‑term client relationships, winning new business, and partnering with organisations that sell physical products Whether you’re an experienced recruiter or a successful B2B sales professional, this is an opportunity to leverage your market knowledge, consultative selling skills, and commercial mindset in a high‑performing, well‑established team.

We’re particularly keen to hear from:

  • Recruitment Consultants with experience in engineering, manufacturing, technical, or product‑led markets

  • B2B Sales or Business Development professionals who have sold products into engineering, manufacturing, or FMCG environments and are looking to move into a consultative, relationship‑led career within recruitment

About the Role

This is a regional, client‑facing position where you’ll work closely with businesses across your patch who specialise in selling physical products.

You will inherit warm client relationships and active candidate pipelines, but there will be a strong emphasis on business development to expand Reed’s presence within this product‑based market especially within engineering and manufacturing sectors. You’ll also collaborate closely with Swindon’s other divisions to share leads, maximise opportunities, and support long‑term, sustainable growth. You’ll be joining a stable, experienced team known for knowledge‑sharing and consistently strong performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and developing a regional recruitment desk within engineering & manufacturing

  • Building long-term, trusted relationships with clients who sell products into their markets

  • Winning new business and expanding existing client relationships through consultative sales

  • Managing the full recruitment lifecycle from briefing through to placement

  • Developing a strong pipeline of high-quality candidates

  • Collaborating with colleagues across specialties to identify cross-sell opportunities

  • Delivering market insight and tailored recruitment solutions to clients

About You

We’re keen to speak with individuals from the following backgrounds:

  • Experienced 360 recruitment consultants, ideally within engineering, manufacturing or technical sectors

  • Or, B2B Sales / Business Development professionals who have sold products into engineering, manufacturing or FMCG markets and are keen to transition into recruitment

You’ll also bring:

  • Strong commercial awareness and relationship-building skills

  • Confidence operating in a regional, field-based role

  • A consultative, professional sales approach

  • Motivation, resilience and ambition to grow a successful desk

  • A full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle
