Downer Rail is a leading provider of rollingstock asset management services in Australia; we have a deep history within the rail industry and currently has world class leading expertise in house that deliver whole-of-life asset management support to our customers. Our capability allows us to offer turnkey solutions for complex projects and spans every project phase, from design and manufacture to through-life-support, condition monitoring and data analytics, to fleet maintenance, operations, and comprehensive overhaul of assets.

We have a great opportunity within our Rail and Transit Systems business for an experienced Recruitment & Sourcing Manager to lead our internal recruitment team.

This role can be based at either our North Ryde, Sydney office OR Melbourne CBD office.

Your responsibilities will include however not limited to:

  • Lead a team responsible for delivering recruitment services across key workforce streams, including technicians, trades and professional roles, while providing hands-on recruitment support for critical roles and activities as required.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to develop and implement sourcing strategies that support recruitment activities and align with workforce plan requirements.
  • Contribute actively to current-state planning, future-focused initiatives and delivery priorities as part of the RTS P&C Leadership team.
  • Allocate work in line with business demand and reporting structures to manage workload effectively and support timely delivery.
  • Contribute to broader Downer Group strategic initiatives and provide support to the wider Downer recruitment team as required.
  • Support cyclical recruitment activity for RTS-specific and market-leading talent acquisition initiatives, including Women on Track, Fast Track graduate talent programmes and apprenticeships.

Experience and knowledge:

  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, document preparation, HRIS/payroll systems, Learning Management Systems and recruitment software
  • Strong understanding of Australian workplace legislation and the industrial relations framework
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritise tasks efficiently and effectively
  • Demonstrated writing capability, with the ability to present information clearly, accurately and concisely
