Want to learn what it's really like to find and hire people? Join our team as an Intern Recruiter and discover recruiting, interviewing, and talent operations while helping us find passionate volunteers who want to make voting more accessible for everyone.
This isn't busy work or coffee runs. You'll make real decisions about who joins our team, conduct actual interviews, and learn systems that recruiting professionals use every day.
Time Commitment: 5-6 hours per week during times that work with your class schedule. One scheduled team meeting (Wednesdays at 4 PM PT) and weekly 30-minute mentoring sessions with our Chief Talent Officer.
Flexibility for Students: We get it. Midterms and finals happen. We were students once. We build flexibility around your academic schedule.
Real responsibility from day one. You're not observing recruiting, you're doing recruiting. With training and support, but making actual decisions that affect who joins our movement.
Skills that transfer immediately. Modern ATS systems, interview techniques, resume screening, and candidate communication.
Decision-making authority. We want you to learn and grow comfortable making decisions. That's how you develop confidence and judgment.
Mentorship that matters. Weekly one-on-ones with experienced recruiting professionals who invest in your development and will gladly serve as references for future opportunities.
Week 1-2: Learning by watching
Week 3+: Doing the work
Throughout: Building skills

Weekly team meetings keep everyone connected. Regular one-on-ones ensure you're learning and growing. And our Slack channels mean you're never stuck without help.
Academic flexibility: Your education comes first. We work around your schedule, not the other way around.
Real mentorship: This isn't just task assignment. We invest in teaching you skills that will help throughout your career.
Reference and recommendations: Successful interns get strong references and letters of recommendation. We take pride in helping launch careers.

Don't have much experience yet? That's exactly why internships exist. We value curiosity, commitment, and willingness to learn over extensive experience.
Not sure if you're qualified? Apply anyway. We'd rather hear from students who are genuinely interested than miss someone great because they doubted themselves.
Ready to learn recruiting while strengthening democracy? This internship combines real professional development with meaningful impact. We can't wait to see what you'll bring to our team.
We know that unpaid roles can present challenges for some students. We're committed to making this opportunity as accessible as possible:
We believe diverse perspectives make our team stronger, and we're willing to work with you to find solutions that make this internship feasible.
WeVote is fully volunteer-driven, and we are proud of our grassroots model. We welcome volunteers of all races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, abilities, ages, income levels, and political perspectives. Everyone is committed to fair, accessible elections. Whether you're new to this work or bring years of experience, there's a place for you.
Questions about the role, our tools, or what it's like to work remotely with our team? Feel free to ask in your application—we love curious students.

WeVote is building the next generation of voting tech. We're creating a digital voter guide informed by issues you care about and people you trust. Through our nonpartisan, open source platform, we'll help you become a better voter, up and down the ballot.
You have a lot of decisions to make when you vote, and political campaigns don't always tell the whole truth. With fake news and misinformation, it's hard to tell which candidate or ballot initiative is on your side. Does that candidate for state legislature care about the same issues that you do? Does the awkwardly-worded ballot initiative support what you believe or is it the exact opposite (and was it purposely written to be so confusing?!)
We Vote cuts through the clutter to help you understand what's on your ballot. Our open platform empowers voters to create and share voter guides that aggregate information and opinions across personal networks. So you can help your friends be better voters too.
