Job Description

Ukpeaġvik Iñupiat Corporation (UIC) is seeking a Corporate Recruiter Coordinator for it's Anchorage-based location. This position supports Ukpeaġvik Iñupiat Corporation (UIC) and its Alaska-based subsidiaries by coordinating recruiting and onboarding activities to ensure an efficient, compliant, and positive hiring experience. This role works closely with recruiters and hiring managers to facilitate interview scheduling, candidate communication, and pre-employment processes from application through onboarding. The Recruiting Coordinator also supports onboarding activities, employee file processes, and recruitment operations, with opportunities to support entry-level recruitment as part of professional growth.

Responsibilities

Essential functions will include:

  • Post job openings and respond to recruitment inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure candidate and requisition information in the ATS is accurate, complete, and up to date to support hiring progress, reporting, and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate interviews between candidates, recruiters, and hiring managers; ensure timely communication throughout the process.
  • Track candidate progress and follow up with hiring managers to ensure timely feedback.
  • Support recruiters on entry-level and high-volume requisitions, including screening support and candidate coordination, as part of role development.
  • Assist with preparing and issuing offer letters and onboarding documentation.
  • Coordinate pre-employment activities, including drug testing and background checks.
  • Support new employees’ welcome processes, including collecting missing new hire paperwork.
  • Facilitate weekly new employee orientation sessions.
  • Download and organize candidate and hiring documentation from the ATS for employee file creation.
  • Maintain hiring and onboarding trackers to monitor progress.
  • Maintain recruitment metrics logs and support reporting activities.
  • Assist with recruiting events, career fairs, and workforce development initiatives.
  • Ensure recruiting activities comply with applicable federal, state, and company policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality of candidate and employee information.
  • As time permits, complete employment verifications and assist with employee file maintenance, including processing verification requests, maintaining digital records, and supporting file audits to ensure compliance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of recruiting and onboarding processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Critical Skills/Expertise:

  • Basic knowledge of recruiting processes and hiring workflows, including interview coordination and onboarding support.
  • Working understanding of applicable employment laws and compliance requirements with the ability to follow established procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, schedules, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, documentation, and recordkeeping.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills when interacting with candidates, hiring managers, and internal teams.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including professional correspondence with candidates.
  • Ability to coordinate logistics and follow through on tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience working within Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), preferably iCIMS.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive candidate and employee information with discretion.
  • Willingness to learn recruiting practices and grow into expanded responsibilities over time.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and support shared recruiting goals.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of recruitment coordination experience.
  • Experience with an Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong grammar and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of OFCCP, EEO/AA, and related employment compliance requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience recruiting across commercial, construction, and professional service lines of business.
  • Familiarity with iCIMS or similar ATS.
  • Must be able to pass background check and mandatory pre-employment drug screening.

Physical and Mental Demands:

  • Regularly required to sit for extended periods.

  • Frequent use of hands to handle, feel objects, tools, or controls.

  • Must be able to communicate clearly through speech and hearing.

  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 lbs.

Working Conditions:

  • Position is based in Anchorage, Alaska.

  • May require travel within Alaska for job fairs or community events, as needed.

  • Primary work environment is a typical office setting, located in an urban (Anchorage) location.

  • May occasionally require travel to construction sites.

  • The work environment is typically moderately quiet.
