Location: Rochester, NY – Hybrid Work Schedule

Experience Level: 1+ year of onboarding and/or recruiting experience; experience within a Human Resources department is preferred

Harris Beach Murtha's Human Resources team is seeking a Recruiting Assistant to coordinate new hire onboarding and support recruiting efforts across the firm. This position plays a key role in ensuring a smooth hiring and onboarding experience while supporting a wide variety of recruiting and HR initiatives.

You will THRIVE in this role if you have:

  • 1+ year of onboarding, human resources, and/or recruiting experience (required)
  • Experience within a Human Resources department (preferred)
  • Associate's degree in Human Resources or equivalent combination of education and experience (required)
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS), HRIS platforms, and Dayforce (preferred)
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong communication, client service, and relationship-building abilities
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism
  • Experience in a law firm environment is a plus

The Recruiting Assistant is responsible for coordinating onboarding activities and supporting recruiting efforts across the firm. Do you have the DRIVE and DESIRE to:

  • Coordinate onboarding activities and prepare new hire paperwork and orientation materials
  • Schedule new hire training sessions and facilitate Rochester-based new hire orientations
  • Track onboarding progress, manage new hire checklists, and follow up on outstanding items
  • Schedule and track retention meetings for new employees
  • Support I-9 compliance efforts and assist with internal audits
  • Help improve and enhance the firm's onboarding and orientation processes
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with HR team members, new hires, hiring managers, colleagues, candidates, and recruitment agencies
  • Assist the recruiting team with job postings, resume reviews, phone screens, interview scheduling, reference checks, and background checks
  • Maintain recruiting information within the firm's applicant tracking system and assist with job description updates and approvals
  • Assist with salary benchmarking and researching new recruiting sources and strategies
  • Support HR projects, programs, and initiatives as needed

Salary information below will vary depending upon relevant experience for the position, geographic location and weekly hours schedule. The anticipated weekly schedule for the Recruiting Assistant is 40 hours a week.

$23.08 - $28.85 per hour

($48,000 - $60,000 annualized)
