About Rainbow Greenhouses

Rainbow Greenhouses supplies national retailers and independent growers across North America with year-round live goods. With over 5 million sq. ft. of greenhouse space in BC and Alberta, we operate advanced, resource-efficient growing systems powered by skilled, hands-on teams with decades of expertise. From seed to sale, our full-service model supports retailers with consistent product availability, in-store service, and merchandising solutions to grow their categories year after year. At Rainbow, we grow plants, people, and partnerships with long-term success in mind.

About the Opportunity

As our Recruiter, you'll own the full recruitment cycle across our organization — from gathering requirements with hiring managers and posting roles, to sourcing and engaging candidates, coordinating interviews, and guiding offers through to acceptance. You'll work closely with our recruiting team on high-volume and seasonal hiring, building organized, consistent workflows.

This is a great fit for an experienced recruiter who is organized, detail-oriented, and confident managing the full recruiting lifecycle in a fast-moving, high-volume environment. With the right interest, this role can expand into broader HR and talent development responsibilities over time.

About You

You're organized, curious, and energized by a busy recruiting desk. You're comfortable juggling multiple open roles at once, enjoy connecting with candidates, and want to build a long-term career in recruitment or HR. You can run your own desk with minimal oversight, and you're not afraid to bring ideas for doing things better.

What You'll Do

Recruitment & Sourcing

  • Own full-cycle recruitment for assigned requisitions — from intake through offer acceptance
  • Proactively source and directly engage qualified candidates (head-hunting) to expand reach beyond inbound applications, especially for harder-to-fill roles
  • Conduct candidate pre-screens, coordinate interviews, and keep hiring managers updated throughout the process
  • Support high-volume and seasonal recruiting efforts, including hiring events — from candidate invitations and interviews through to same-day offers

Process & Compliance

  • Apply the GRIT hiring framework, driving consistent candidate pre-screening and evaluation standards across roles
  • Build and maintain a centralized inventory of open and recurring roles to support hiring forecasts, prioritization, and reduced time-to-fill
  • Prepare and maintain Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) documentation to help keep our foreign-worker hiring program compliant and audit-ready

Communication & Coordination

  • Maintain organized, up-to-date candidate and requisition records
  • Keep hiring managers informed and engaged throughout the recruitment process
  • Other duties as assigned

Room to Grow

As you build experience in this role, there's room to expand into:

  • Owning or supporting the Temporary Foreign Worker (TFW) and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program (SAWP), including documenting repeatable workflows and training materials
  • Supporting corporate and office recruitment alongside high-volume hiring, broadening your recruiting versatility
  • Collecting candidate and new-hire testimonials to support employer branding and recruitment marketing
  • Building a warm pipeline of passive candidates for specialty roles ahead of demand
  • Learning additional company functions to better understand and support the wider business

Must-Haves

  • Formal education in Human Resources (Diploma or Degree), or equivalent experience
  • 2–5 years of full-cycle recruitment experience; high-volume or fast-paced environments are an asset
  • Comfortable managing multiple open requisitions at once with strong organizational skills
  • Proven experience in sourcing, cold calling, and candidate engagement
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to build rapport with candidates and hiring managers
  • Comfort with applicant tracking systems (ATS), sourcing platforms, and basic recruitment reporting
  • Interest in growing your HR knowledge to support broader HR operations over time

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience or interest in agricultural, greenhouse, manufacturing, or other high-volume seasonal industries
  • Exposure to compliance- or process-driven recruitment environments
  • Interest in foreign worker or seasonal worker hiring programs (TFW/SAWP, LMIA)

About Rainbow Greenhouses Inc

We're a full-service horticultural producer delivering live plants and value-added solutions to major retailers and independent partners across Western Canada and the Northwestern United States.

Rainbow started in 1985 as a family-led greenhouse guided by the Vander Waal's commitment to quality, relationships, and long-term growth. Today, with the confidence of our retail partners, the dedication of our teams, and the continued support of our customers, we continue to expand our operations.

We produce ornamental annuals, perennials, tropical foliage, indoor flowering plants, vegetable starters, and cut flowers on a commercial scale, using advanced systems across every stage of production. Spanning more than five million square feet of growing space in British Columbia and Alberta, our teams combine decades of horticultural expertise with precision systems that emphasize efficiency and deliver consistent results at scale.

We continue to innovate through automation, fertigation, and integrated pest management practices. These advancements help us support our teams, protect resources, and deliver high-quality plants year-round. Every system, from propagation and cultivation to distribution and merchandising, has been refined to provide our retail partners with a complete, full-service approach.

Our mission is to grow opportunities for plants, people, and partnerships. That means cultivating careers, building trusted relationships, and maintaining practices that strengthen both our operations and the resources we depend on.

Rainbow’s people-centered culture reflects our GRIT values: Go for it, Rise to the challenge, Improve every day, and Tackle it together. Across all facilities, we’re focused on continuous improvement, shared success, and advancing modern horticulture through efficiency and teamwork.
