Pediatric Specialty Care (PSC) is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and creative Recreational Therapist to join our interdisciplinary pediatric team. Responsibilities

Recreational Therapist (CTR) Responsibilities:

  • Conduct recreational therapy assessments upon admission and annually thereafter
  • Develop therapeutic recreation goals and individualized programming
  • Lead and participate in 1:1 and group activities
  • Create engaging monthly activity calendars
  • Coordinate community outings and special events
  • Support individuals with activities of daily living as needed
  • Document progress toward goals and developmental milestones
  • Supervise activity assistants and volunteers
  • Foster socialization, confidence, emotional wellbeing, and community engagement
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary care teams

Qualifications

Recreational Therapist (CTR): Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Therapeutic Recreation from an accredited college or university
  • Recreational Therapist Certification required
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
