Starting pay: $12.00

Part Time: up to 19 hours per week

Shift: Morning 5:15 AM - 10:15 AM

Job Objective:

As a Kroc Attendant,you will perform a variety of duties such as cleaning exercise machines and program spaces, facilitating and/or assisting with programs and events, checking out/in equipment, assisting with score keeping, activity, and class prep & cleanup for the St. Joseph County Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center. The Kroc Attendant must demonstratestrong communication skills, be outgoing, and enjoy building relationships with a variety of members and guestsThe Kroc Attendant may be required to perform as the Mascot (RJ). All done while ensuring that the Mission of The Salvation Army is effectively carried out

What You Will Do

General Duties for All Attendants in all departments

  • Maintainaccurate equipment check-in and out procedures
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the assigned area and its equipment, following departmental-specific guidelines
  • Return all equipment to the proper location
  • Report all equipment breakdowns according to departmental procedure
  • Enforce all safety guidelines that pertain to the assigned area on a constant and consistent basis
  • Other tasks as assigned by leadership

Fitness and/or Recreation Attendant

  • Assist members during workouts with proper use of equipment, proper form, and safety guidelines
  • Report all equipment and fitness area problems or needed repairs to the Manager on Duty
  • Enforce all rules that pertain to the fitness and exercise areas on a constant and consistent basis

Climbing Wall Attendant

  • Perform participant safety orientation and supervise all climbers for safe practices
  • Enforce all rules that pertain to the climbing wall on a constant and consistent basis
  • Provide overall supervision of the climbing wall during hours of operation.
  • Observe all safety rules and regulations

Teen Zone Attendant:

  • Responsible for the safety, supervision, and engagement of all teens in the Zone Activity room.
  • Responsible for checking in out members as they enter and exit the Zone.
  • Assist with programming as needed.
  • Responsible for checking in/out all materials (video games, controllers, board games, puzzles) used by teens in the Zone.
  • Maintain readiness and cleanliness of the Zone area by cleaning tables, counter tops, and equipment according to Policy and Procedure

Background ChecksPosition requires a background check to be completed, and all background check results will be reviewed.

CertificationsMust complete Safe From Harm training within the first 30 days of employment

Skills/Abilities:

  • Able to speak, write, and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership, field personnel, and clientele.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft products and the ability to learn electronic reporting systems.

Physical Requirements Include:

  • Good speaking, hearing, and vision ability, and excellent manual dexterity
  • Lifting, pulling, and pushing of materials up to 25 pounds
  • May requirebending, squatting, and walking
  • May require standing for extended periods.

Working Conditions:Work is performed at the KROC Center. Some weekend and evening work is required

This is a part-time position, up to 19 hours of work per week, covering the morning shift between 5:15 am and 10:15 am.

  • Paid College Tuition Kroc Center employees are eligible to take online courses through Indiana Wesleyan University toward a variety of degree programs, at no cost to you. Must work a minimum of 12 hours per week to be eligible.
