NOW HIRING: RECREATION PROGRAM ASSISTANT

Do you have a gift for bringing happiness into a room? Do you love connecting with people, sparking smiles, and creating moments that make life more meaningful?

We’re looking for a warm, energetic, and creative Recreation Program Assistant who wants to make a real difference in the lives of our Residents!

At Meadowridge, we believe our building should feel welcoming, vibrant, and full of life. We want happiness to be something people can feel the moment they walk through our doors — whether they’re a Resident, family member, team member, volunteer, or visitor.

We’re looking for someone who can help make that happen!

If you love bringing people together, thinking outside the box, and turning ordinary days into extraordinary moments, we’d love to meet you.

🎉 YOUR MISSION: MAKE EVERY DAY MATTER

Bring the joy!

  • Plan, prepare, lead, and evaluate fun, creative, and meaningful recreation programs that encourage participation and brighten Residents’ days.
  • Lead and motivate Residents in individual and group leisure activities that reflect their interests, abilities, preferences, and recreational treatment plans.
  • Help create a lively, positive atmosphere where laughter, connection, and meaningful experiences are part of everyday life.

Create moments that matter.

  • Get to know Residents as individuals and find opportunities to enrich their lives through activities that bring enjoyment, purpose, and connection.
  • Encourage friendships, celebrate individual interests, and help every Resident feel included, valued, and engaged.
  • Help organize and accompany Residents on off-site outings, working with team members and/or family members to support Resident safety.

Bring fresh ideas and positive energy.

  • Contribute new ideas and creative approaches to recreation programming.
  • Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT), volunteers, colleagues, and families to support Residents’ wishes, needs, and well-being.
  • Help create a welcoming environment that makes a positive impression on everyone who enters the building.

Keep things organized and safe.

  • Maintain accurate attendance records and complete Resident documentation in accordance with Park Place charting protocols.
  • Participate in education sessions, program evaluations, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Follow safety procedures, take reasonable precautions to protect Residents, visitors, team members, volunteers, and the public, and promptly report accidents, injuries, near misses, equipment damage, and unsafe conditions.
  • Make suggestions to improve workplace safety and perform other duties as required.

💛 WHAT YOU BRING

  • A genuine passion for enriching the lives of others and creating positive experiences.
  • A friendly, compassionate, and enthusiastic personality with a natural ability to connect with people.
  • Creativity, initiative, patience, and a willingness to try new ideas.
  • Previous recreation experience is preferred.
  • A Recreation Aide certificate or education in a related field would be an asset.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of recent related experience is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
  • A Class 4 Driver’s License is preferred.
  • Experience working with seniors and/or in an assisted living or healthcare setting is an asset.

✨ MORE THAN ACTIVITIES — IT'S ABOUT ENRICHING LIVES

The right song, a favourite game, a spontaneous laugh, a special outing, or a simple conversation can make someone's day.

We want someone who understands that recreation is about more than filling a calendar. It’s about creating joy, fostering relationships, celebrating individuality, and making life more meaningful.

Can you help us make happiness contagious at Meadowridge?

If you’re ready to bring your creativity, compassion, and positive energy to a role where the little things make a big difference, we’d love to hear from you!
