Tampa Residential youth Academy:
Tampa Residential Facility is comprised of multiple co-located residential commitment programs serving moderate risk male youth aged 14 to 18 who require behavioral/mental health and substance abuse services. The programs utilize evidence-based practices to provide comprehensive care, treatment, and supervision. Youth will also receive psychotherapeutic services, including individual, family, and group counseling while at the program.
Pay: $50.000
What you will do:
The recreation therapist will be responsible to facilitate structured and organized physical activities to restore motor, social and cognitive functioning, build confidence, develop coping skills, and promote wellness and pro-social activities. This position will report to the DMHCA and work closely with the therapists to integrate physical and mental health wellness goals into the youths’ individualized treatment plans
To be considered you should: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in recreational therapy or related field (such as recreation, leisure studies, or physical education) which included an internship or practicum experience -or- Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) credentialing. A minimum of one year of related experience working with youth is required.
