Recreation Leader I, under the direction of the Program Coordinator and Recreation Specialist, involves leading recreational programs, ensuring cleanliness of equipment and facilities, supervising children, and performing other related tasks. Flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, and compliance with safety guidelines are essential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Ensures the safety and well-being of campers and program participants
• Cleans facilities, including equipment, spas, and saunas
• Prepares and maintains exercise and recreation equipment, courts, and climbing wall for daily use
• Performs general office duties such as filing, sorting, and answering phones
• Assists with work events and special Parks and Recreation programs
• Leads and supervises recreation programs for all ages across various Summit Recreation Center areas and at events
• Ensures adherence to all Summit membership guidelines and controls
• Serves meals and snacks to program participants as needed
• Follows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
• Completion of two (2) years of high school

Preferred Qualifications
• One (1) year of experience in related area
• Bilingual in English and Spanish

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
• Valid driver’s license
• CPR and First aid or able to attain within 90 days
• Food handler license or able to attain within 90 days
