Are you looking for an opportunity for professional growth and development while serving the community?
We invite you to join the City of San Bernardino's Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department as a part-time Recreation Aide!
As a future member of our team, you’ll be joining a city with deep roots, cultural diversity, and exciting momentum. Located in the heart of Southern California’s Inland Empire, San Bernardino is the county seat and largest city in San Bernardino County, home to more than 222,000 residents. Its rich history — shaped by Native American, Mexican, and Spanish influences — continues to inspire the city’s evolving identity.
San Bernardino offers access to major transit corridors, natural beauty, and a wide range of housing and lifestyle options. It’s a place where public service careers are supported by a strong sense of community and purpose — and where motivated professionals can grow, contribute, and be part of something meaningful.
The Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department is seeking customer-service oriented individuals as part-time Recreation Aide cashiers. This position is responsible for assisting customers with general inquiries while providing excellent customer service to the public.
Cashiers support daily operations at City recreation facilities by processing payments, maintaining accurate records, balancing cash drawers, and assisting patrons in a friendly and professional manner. This position is ideal for individuals who are organized, detail-oriented, and enjoy working in a fast-paced public environment. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to provide courteous service while handling financial transactions accurately.
Part-time Recreation Aides work an average of 20 hours per week and are assigned to varied work shifts, including weekends.
