
The Recovery from Addictions Program (RAP) operated by the Department of Mental Health (DMH) is seeking a dynamic individual who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of persons with substance addiction and to encourage/motivate individuals in their recovery to work towards treatment goals. Selected candidates in this role will provide supervision to staff including, but not limited to, coordination of assignments, planning/monitoring shift schedules, scheduling training sessions for staff or clients, maintaining supplies and equipment and enforcing policies, rules and regulations.
The Recovery Treatment Worker II provides direct care services to clients by assisting individuals in performing daily living functions: executing behavioral programs, assisting in planning and organizing recreational, social, instructional or special activities, attending treatment meetings, accompanying clients to appointments and providing medication support. Incumbents utilize motivational skills to encourage participation in activities and will be required to participate in restraint/seclusion as directed by nursing/psychiatry staff and per DMH regulations to ensure the safety of clients and staff.
Please Note The selected candidate will work 40 hours per week on 2nd shift (2:45PM - 11:15PM), with Tuesday and Wednesday as the days off. Selected candidate must attend orientation during first shift the first three weeks, Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm.
Employees in this position will be required to work mandatory overtime.

About the Recovery from Addictions Program (RAP)
The Department of Mental Health (DMH) in collaboration with the Department of Public Health (DPH) Bureau of Substance Addiction Services operates a statewide Recovery from Addictions Program (RAP) for individuals civilly committed by the courts for substance use treatment for up to 90 days (“Section 35 commitment”).
The program model will provide acute detoxification and early clinical stabilization services as we help clients develop community-based linkages to outpatient supports and substance use disorder treatment providers. The individuals treated within this program will be linked upon discharge to a range of services within the DPH continuum of care for substance use conditions. RAP provides administrative, medical, clinical, and non-clinical services. Its mission to provide quality client-centered care and recovery-oriented treatment.

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must have at least (A) three (3) years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience providing direct care services in a human service related field (e.g. substance use disorders, mental health or developmental or physical disability), of which (B) at least one (1) year must be specifically working with a substance use disorder population and (C) of which at least one (1) year must have been in a supervisory capacity; or (D) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitution below.
Substitutions:
I. An Associate's degree or higher with a major in substance use disorder, psychology, human services, or mental health may be substituted for one year of the required (A) experience.
II. Two (2) years of experience as a Recovery Treatment Worker I in the Recovery From Addictions Program may be substituted for required (C) supervisory experience.
Salary placement is determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate’s years of directly related experience and education, and alignment with our internal compensation structure as set forth by the Human Resources Division’s Hiring Guidelines. For all bargaining unit positions (non-management), compensation is subject to the salary provisions outlined in the applicable collective bargaining agreement and will apply to placement within the appropriate salary range.
