Job Description

The Recovery Technician Recovers tissue for transplant as an on-call, per diem member of the Tissue Recovery Team.

Training pay is $15.48 per hour.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Recovery Technician:
1. Surgically recovers tissue according to company and regulatory standards and documents recovery activities as needed.
2. Maintains all recovery instruments and equipment.
3. Prepares and packs recovery instruments, equipment and supplies in preparation for recovery activities.
4. Works with full-time staff to ensure adequate supply inventory, and promptly communicates deficiencies.
5. Attends required training and monthly meetings as directed.
6. Trains recovery personnel.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Note: This is a part-time, per diem position and as such there is no guarantee on the number of cases to be assigned or the amount of income to be earned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• High School diploma or equivalent combined with recent relevant medical experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
• Must be able to meet minimum on-call requirements, including weekends and holidays.
• Overnight travel may be required, including flights on commercial aircraft.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be considered insurable by Solvita insurance provider.
• Must be able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds and greater than 50 pounds with assistance.
• Must be able to meet the required physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate’s Degree.
• Knowledge of gross anatomy and sterile technique.
• Certified Tissue Bank Specialist (CTBS).
• Experience or training in surgical technology/operating room procedures, allied health, medical, technical or mortuary field.
