Make a Difference Through Recovery Support and Advocacy
communiCare is seeking a compassionate and motivated Recovery Support Specialist to join our SAFE Family Recovery Program. In this role, you will use your lived experience or professional background to support individuals and families on their recovery journey, helping them build resilience, overcome barriers, and access the care they need.

Recovery Coaching & Client Support
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and encouragement to individuals in recovery
- Conduct Recovery Management Check-Ups (RMCS) to support ongoing progress
- Assist clients in identifying strengths, building resilience, and achieving recovery goals
- Act as an advocate to reduce stigma and barriers to treatment
Assessment & Education
- Administer SBIRT screenings to assess substance use needs
- Provide psychoeducation and connect individuals to appropriate treatment resources
- Conduct toxicology screenings (urinalysis, breathalyzer, hair testing) as needed
Care Coordination & Community Engagement
- Coordinate services with providers and community partners
- Support families and caregivers through regular check-ins, both in-person and in the community
- Model positive recovery behaviors and strategies
Documentation & Program Participation
- Maintain accurate, timely client records and progress notes
- Participate in training, coaching calls, and ongoing professional development

Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree in behavioral health field preferred.  RSS with less than a Bachelor’s Degree must receive approval by the RMCS model developer.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Bilingual English-Spanish preferred.
- Volunteer or work experience with adults with serious behavioral health issues.
- Must be well along in own recovery process.
- Proven experience working individually and in a group setting.
- Sensitivity to diverse cultures and language competencies.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.  Must maintain an acceptable driving record and be insurable at a reasonable rate under the Organization’s auto insurance plan.
