Job Description

Integrated Risk is a staff department within the Risk domain directly reporting to the Chief Risk Officer (CRO). One of the responsibilities is Recovery & Resolution Planning. Other responsibilities includes ICAAP Analytics, ESG risk, Enterprise Risk Management and Model Development and Oversight. We are looking for a candidate for the Recovery & Resolution Planning team.

The team

Recovery & Resolution Planning has the following key responsibilities:

  • Recovery Planning: In response to the Great Financial Crisis, ING has set up an all-encompassing group wide Recovery Plan to enhance the bank’s readiness and decisiveness to tackle severe financial crises on its own strength. This recovery plan needs to be annually updated to be fit for purpose and contains a.o. recovery options, crisis scenarios and and recovery indicator framework;

  • Resolution Planning: ING provides information on the basis of which the Resolution Authorities are to develop a Resolution Plan. Moreover, ING is increasing its resolvability by coordinating and implementing the necessary financial, legal and operational preconditions. It is the Integrated Risk objective together with several Finance and Risk departments, Group Treasury and the business, to develop effective Plans that fulfil regulatory requirements and take the necessary steps to become resolvable. Moreover the team analyses new resolution regulations and requirements and provides analysis and advice to senior management.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Coordination/support projects to implement the SRB expectations for banks to become resolvable, for example on Funding and Liquidity in resolution, Valuation in resolution or Operational Continuity in resolution with a focus both on coordination and providing expertise.

  • Advice senior management on Recovery and Resolution Planning (RRP) topics forthcoming from the Bank Recovery & Resolution Directive and translation to the ING context both on a strategic and operational level with a broad focus on financial, legal or operational aspects;

  • Develop Resolution planning deliverables required by the SRB such as the Resolvability Self-Assessment, Background Technical Notes on various resolution planning deliverables (e.g. MREL, Valuation, and Business Reorganisation) and organise the Resolution Planning Annual Data Request;

  • Represent ING towards supervisory and resolution authorities;

  • Lead and contribute to (parts) updating the Recovery Plan;

  • Become a recognized expert on Recovery & Resolution Planning related topics;

  • A Master degree in finance, (business) economics, mathematics or a similar education

  • Overall, 10+ years work experience in the financial industry, with experience with the regulatory landscape and/or policy/governance frameworks

  • A good understanding of the ING organisation together with a strong network

  • Proven change management skills and experience

  • Ability to work well with demanding senior stakeholders, both internally and externally

  • Excellent communication skills, organisation sensitivity and teamwork

  • Fluency in English (both written and verbal)
