
Within the context of a client and family-centered framework and continuum based care model and in accordance with established standards of professional practice, and the vision and values of the organization work as part of a community recovery-based team, coordinates care and supports for people who use substances along their individual recovery journey. Facilitates access to services, information and social supports, and provides education through consultation of best practice resources in the continuity of substance-use recovery services. QUALIFICATIONS:Education & Experience Bachelor’s Degree in a Health Science from a recognized program. Two (2) years’ recent related experience providing support and treatment services to people with problematic substance use or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Valid BC Driver’s License with access to a reliable vehicle as local area travel may be required, and will be noted on the posting.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesDemonstrate knowledge of substance-use recovery services in the community and across British Columbia.Demonstrate Knowledge of health inequities and discrimination faced by designated client population.Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of harm reduction in a health care setting.Demonstrate knowledge of strengths based, client centered approach and ability to incorporate into practice.Demonstrate knowledge of Indigenous Cultural Safety.Demonstrate knowledge of traditional healing practices. Broad knowledge of legislation and government policies and procedures that relate to people who use substances and their support network.Demonstrate knowledge of recovery community agencies, health care agencies and a range of service options available to the designated client population.Demonstrate knowledge of case- management approach.Ability to utilize strategies to reduce barriers to care for the designated client population.Knowledge of facilitation and conflict resolution techniques.Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of individuals/service providers.Ability to establish and maintain supportive, trusting and professional relationships with clients and allies in individual and group settings.Ability to establish, maintain and facilitate effective working relationships with colleagues and other service providers. Welcome to the Community Outpatient Recovery Experience (The CORE): - Formerly known as Daytox, we are a psychosocial treatment/outpatient program for people who want to change their relationship with substances and themselves. We support a multiple pathways approach to recovery (abstinence is not a requirement of the program). - We are a groups-based day program supplemented by 1:1 counselling, peer support, and recovery navigation. We do not provide medication or medical services; however, we can help connect you to these resources. - For adults 19+ who live in Vancouver or Richmond. The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
