Summary:
The Recovery Meeting Attendant is a vital member of our team, responsible for providing safe and reliable transportation to individuals in recovery, escorting them to and during 12-step meetings, and fostering a supportive and encouraging environment. This role requires compassion, professionalism, and a commitment to helping individuals on their journey towards sobriety.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Transportation Services:
- Safely transport recovery clients to and from designated 12-step meetings, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Ensure clients' comfort and well-being during transit, maintaining a positive and respectful demeanor.
Escort and Support:
- Act as a supportive companion and mentor to recovery clients, offering encouragement and maintaining a non-judgmental attitude.
- Assist clients in navigating meeting locations, providing guidance and reassurance as needed.
Punctuality and Reliability:
- Arrive punctually at designated pick-up points, ensuring clients are never left waiting.
- Maintain a consistent schedule and adhere to meeting times, allowing clients to fully engage in the recovery process.
Confidentiality:
- Uphold strict confidentiality regarding clients' personal information, experiences, and discussions shared during meetings.
Communication:
- Establish clear and open communication with clients, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
- Coordinate with the program coordinator or supervisor to report any relevant information regarding clients' progress or challenges.
Professionalism:
- Present oneself in a professional and respectful manner, serving as a positive role model for recovery clients.

Crisis Management:
- Be prepared to handle potential crisis situations by remaining calm, compassionate, and following established protocols.
- Offer appropriate support and resources to clients in times of distress or uncertainty.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of transportation schedules, client interactions, and any incidents that occur during transit or at meetings.

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or training in addiction recovery or counseling is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Prior experience working with individuals in recovery, addiction treatment centers, or related fields is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and provide empathetic support.
- Compassionate, non-judgmental attitude and a commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality in previous roles.
- Ability to handle potentially challenging situations with professionalism and composure.
- Basic knowledge of the 12-step recovery process and related principles is beneficial.
