Job Description

Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for a Records Analyst located at Columbus General Officein Columbus, Nebraska. Position closes Friday August 28th, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time.

This position will report to the Records Processing Supervisor.

The Records Analyst receives, prepares, and processes records/documents and drawings, which involves determining records retention requirements, analyzing and indexing pertinent information to ensure records can be accurately retrieved in the future. This also includes converting hardcopy documents to a different media, including conversion to electronic files by production scanners. The Records Analyst is required to operate various types of image/micrographics production and test equipment. The Records Analyst also provides administrative support for the corporate records retention program.

Education, Training and Experience

Requires a two-year degree in a Business/Management related field and one year of experience in one or more areas listed under the Essential Duties and Responsibilities or a high school diploma and two or more years relevant experience.

Licenses and/or Certifications

NERC Cyber Security Clearance – Safeguards Clearance (depends on specific functions performed)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Receive and prepare records for additional processing and provide records management assistance to engineering, technical, and administrative staff throughout the District. Assign proper retention codes to records, provide guidance and answer questions related to the records retention program.

Analyze and index technical and administrative records/documents and drawings by extracting pertinent information and entering that data into databases or performing quality assurance reviews on data entered by others.

Process and perform quality assurance reviews for new and updated drawings, design changes and vendor manuals. Resolve any issues concerning these processes. Maintain, update, and control safeguards and NERC related drawings, microfilm and hardcopy files.

Operate all image/micrographics equipment such as a scanner, roll film/aperture card duplicator, film processor, rotary/planetary camera, test equipment and aperture card mounting equipment. Inspect, maintain, and repair all darkroom/micrographics equipment. Perform preventive and operational maintenance of hardware and replace any worn parts on equipment not under a service contract.

Inspect processed microfilm through testing for density, residual chemicals, image resolution and perform archival film (methylene blue) tests on microfilm to ensure the film meets industry and/or manufacturer standards.

Travel to various District locations to provide outage and non-outage support.

Salary Information - Nebraska Public Power District offers a competitive starting salary with opportunities for growth. In addition to the base salary range listed below, NPPD employees may also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program (AIP) that may supplement total compensation at a level above and beyond the stated salary range. Successful applicants will be provided more information regarding the incentive program at the time of an interview.

Pay Grade - 8 Monthly

Typical Pay Grade Starting Salary Range: $4,184.00 - $5,126.00

Travel Required: Up to 25% (With no or minimal overnight stays, less than 3 per month, typically within state of Nebraska) Travel required may fluctuate by business need. This is an estimate and will be discussed further with candidates that receive an interview.
