The Opportunity:
As a Record to Report Period End Close Analyst (NAM), you will execute core general accounting and management accounting operational activities supporting the North America (NAM) region from our Roche Services & Solutions (RSS) center in Costa Rica.
In this role, you will perform advanced accounting functions—utilizing in-depth knowledge of accounting methods, principles, and practices—while conducting complex analysis, reconciliations, and audits of financial transactions and processes across the NAM affiliate landscape.
Accounting & Auditing Excellence: Lead complex accounting analysis and month-end close activities, acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned NAM affiliates and a technical resource for team members.
Financial Reporting & Statements: Prepare and review a variety of complex financial/cost reports, trial balances, balance sheets, and P&L statements.
General Ledger & Journal Entries: Execute month-end journal entries, ensuring accurate cost allocations, supporting audit trails, and proper ledger maintenance.
Financial Commentary & Variance Analysis: Provide meaningful commentary on financial statements, investigate balance discrepancies, and present actionable recommendations to finance leadership.
Compliance & Continuous Improvement: Ensure all systems and procedures strictly comply with company policies, US GAAP/IFRS, and regulatory standards while supporting internal training and process optimization.
Who You Are:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
Experience: Minimum of 4+ years of direct experience in General Ledger, Operational Accounting, or Month-End Close functions.
Technical ERP Knowledge: Hands-on experience with SAP modules (e.g., FI, CO, FA, MM) and financial close management tools (e.g., BlackLine).
Core Accounting Skills: Solid understanding of financial principles (US GAAP / IFRS), financial statements, and audit requirements within a Shared Services environment.
English: Advanced/Fluent English is a MUST (written and spoken) for daily collaboration with US/NAM stakeholders and leadership.
AI & Data Analytics Skills: Experience or strong interest in leveraging AI tools, advanced analytics, automation (e.g., Power BI, Alteryx, Python, macros), or process digitalization to streamline reporting and workflows..
Certifications: Professional accounting certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) are highly desirable.
