The Position

This role is based in Roche Services Americas, one of our worldwide Shared Services Centers providing Finance and Procurement services to various countries in the Americas region. As the Record to Report (R2R) CRM SME, you will be based in San José, Costa Rica, reporting to the Cluster Section Lead CRM NALA.

The Opportunity:

In this specialized role, you will be responsible for executing high-level AR operational activities and serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for our systems and processes. Your focus will be on maintaining technical excellence and driving regional process harmonization.

Your responsibilities include:

  • SME Leadership: Maintain deep knowledge of accounts receivable processes, flows, and systems. Serve as the technical expert for "AS IS" processes during global project implementations.

  • Operational Execution: Coordinate and perform complete, stringent, and timely financial tasks including bank reconciliation, cash application, and clearing of AR/bank suspense accounts.

  • Process Improvement: Propose and coordinate system enhancements, sharing best practices from global organizations and following through on implementations.

  • Credit & Data Management: Execute Customer Credit Analysis, manage dispute resolutions, and maintain customer credit master data.

  • Project Coordination: Support the resolution of gaps found during project rollouts, coordinating testing and documentation to ensure seamless transitions.

  • Training & Mentorship: Maintain a training network to ensure knowledge flows across the organization, providing functional guidance to team members.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Handle incoming inquiries via calls and emails with a focus on customer service, and facilitate cross-functional communication to resolve complex issues.

Who you are:

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Project Management or Engineering.

  • You bring 5+ years of finance and accounting experience, with a deep understanding of R2R and AR process flows.

  • You are characterized by a high level of social competence and are fluent in both English and Spanish; Portuguese is a plus.

  • You possess strong technical expertise in Finance Shared Services systems such as SAP, BlackLine, and SNOW SAP FS-CM and Power BI a plus.

  • You are an expert at organizing tasks with limited direction and managing multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • You are well known for your independent, yet collaborative working style and your ability to act as a technical bridge between local teams and global projects.

Preferred:

  • Advanced knowledge of computerized environments (Excel, G-Suite, PowerPoint, Power BI) for data analysis.

  • Demonstrated experience in project testing and documentation (UAT) within a Shared Service Center environment.
