The University of Chicago's Department of Surgery, Section of Urology, seeks full‐time faculty members at any rank. Appointees will have inpatient and outpatient responsibilities to support and complement the faculty in Urology. Appointees will support the reconstructive, trauma and female urology program which entails treating, evaluating, and providing patient care directly. Additionally, appointees will maintain a productive clinical portfolio and develop a clinical practice complemented by patient‐oriented research. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.
The University of Chicago Medicine has been at the forefront of medical care since 1927. Located in historic Hyde Park, the primary medical campus includes the Center for Care and Discovery, Comer Children's Hospital, Bernard A. Mitchell Hospital for adult inpatient care, and the Duchossois Center for Advanced Medicine (DCAM) totaling more than 550 beds in service. New ambulatory facilities are located in Orland Park, River East, South Loop, and the Ingalls Health System has recently integrated into the network.
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, 3) be Board certified or eligible with the American Board of Urology (or equivalent), and 4) be fellowship trained in reconstructive Urology or equivalent training.
