Job Description

Have you heard of us?

For 35 years, we have been helping companies grow. It is a path that we know well. When Radius started its business in 1990, it was running a successful fuel SME in the North West of England. Today, we are a global business services company operating in 19 countries on five continents.

Our mission is to help businesses of all sizes adapt to market changes and take advantage of the opportunities that come with them.

We differentiate ourselves by our ability to provide SMBs with fleet and connectivity products and services in a single solution, as well as customized solutions for enterprise-level businesses.

About the role

We're looking for a Reconciliation Subject Matter Expert — a part-qualified or qualified finance professional whose real strength is the discipline of reconciliation itself.

You'll bring rigour, structure, and a problem-solving mindset to making accounts balance and explaining the differences that matter. Your day-to-day will centre on supplier and accounts payable reconciliations.

We will be happy to welcome you to our Head Office in Crewe, with working pattern being Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm.

What you'll do

  • Own the reconciliation of supplier statements against the purchase ledger, matching transactions and clearing down open items
  • Apply a structured, investigative approach to resolving discrepancies, unmatched items, and unexplained differences
  • Act as the subject matter expert on reconciliation methodology, setting the standard and advising colleagues
  • Produce clear, well-evidenced reconciliation workpapers that stand up to internal and external audit
  • Identify root causes behind recurring differences and recommend process or control improvements
  • Support the group financial control framework by ensuring balances are reconciled and explained

Qualifications

  • A part- qualified, fully qualified or QBE accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Demonstrable expertise in reconciliation — whatever the ledger or context (bank, balance sheet, intercompany, control accounts, AP/AR)
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical, analytical approach to resolving differences
  • Strong Excel skills (lookups, sumifs, large data sets)
  • The ability to explain reconciling items clearly to finance and non-finance colleagues alike
  • Comfortable working to month-end deadlines, on-site, as part of a team

Nice to have

  • Experience with Sage X3
  • Exposure to high-volume or multi-entity environments
  • Prior supplier statement / purchase ledger experience

Additional Information

What to expect from us?

  • A friendly culture that reflects our proposition to customers.
  • A fast-growing organization that defines itself as agile and innovative.
  • A drive for continuous improvement, which will give you the opportunity to support from day one.
  • A commitment to building a work environment that values inclusivity, innovation, agility and grit. And, of course, competitive pay, a potential bonus, and a good range of benefits
