Are you organised, approachable, and passionate about supporting women to achieve positive change? The Nelson Trust is looking for a Receptionist/Administrator to become the welcoming face of our Cwm Taf Women's Centre in Pontypridd.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated, trauma-informed team that supports women facing multiple disadvantages, including housing issues, substance misuse, mental and physical health challenges, financial difficulties, previous trauma, and involvement with the criminal justice system.

About the Role

As Receptionist/Administrator, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the centre. You will provide a professional reception service, coordinate administrative processes, support centre operations, and help create a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment for women accessing our services

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome clients, visitors, and partner agencies to the centre.
  • Manage incoming calls, enquiries, messages, and correspondence.
  • Coordinate daily attendance, safeguarding discussions, and meeting administration.
  • Support health and safety processes, including visitor logs, fire safety checks, and accident reporting.
  • Maintain confidential records and administrative systems.
  • Coordinate referrals and liaise with external agencies and partner organisations.
  • Support centre events, meetings, and group activities.
  • Manage office supplies, petty cash, deliveries, and general centre administration.
  • Help ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients, staff, and visitors within the centre.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in using Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Able to manage a varied workload and work independently
  • An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Able to work collaboratively within a busy team environment
  • Flexible, professional, and comfortable managing competing priorities and interruptions
  • Committed to maintaining confidentiality, safeguarding, and promoting equality and diversity

Desirable

  • Experience using databases or case management systems.
  • Experience within the charity, health, social care, or community sector.
  • Experience using design software such as Photoshop, InDesign, or Publisher.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to improve processes.

Additional Information

This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check due to working with vulnerable adults and children. This post is exempt under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010 and is therefore open to female applicants only. Successful applicants will also be required to complete a three-month probationary period.

About The Nelson Trust

The Nelson Trust are experts in the provision of residential treatment and support for people with an addiction. This includes working with families and a dedicated residential addiction treatment provision for women who have been impacted by trauma, which includes a specialist programme for women with a history of sex working.

Our approach is trauma informed, relational and oriented to lifelong recovery. In addition to treatment, we provide education, training and employment services, resettlement housing, and community-based support for those who identify as being in recovery from addiction.

In the community, we provide a wide range of services, across Gloucestershire, Swindon & Wiltshire and Avon &

Somerset from our Women’s Community Centres. We work with justice involved women, women with mental

health issues, survivors of violence, abuse, and women who experience complex disadvantage.

Our experience of working with women has informed our service delivery response to their experiences.

Most of the women we work with have experienced abuse, trauma and sexual exploitation prior to entering

adulthood.

We believe that change is possible given the appropriate opportunity through individualised, holistic support and

trauma informed approaches that respond to their life experiences and current challenges.
