Job Description

We're looking for an experienced, full-time Receptionist/Administrator to join our friendly and busy medical practice. This is a varied role where you'll be a trusted member of the team — providing a warm, professional experience for our patients while keeping the day-to-day administration running smoothly.

To be successful, you'll bring a confident, level-headed approach and sound judgement. You'll be comfortable making decisions within your remit, using your initiative to anticipate what needs to be done, and acting on it without waiting to be asked. Alongside this, you'll have solid experience in a similar role and top-notch customer service skills.

Located on the Tokoroa Hospital campus, Tokoroa Medical Centre is whānau and community oriented, with a focus on improving health outcomes by ensuring people get the right care as early as possible. We are owned by Primary Health Care Ltd (PHCL), who also own and operate 8 other general practices in the Waikato, Bay of Plenty and Taranaki regions.

We're looking for someone with the following:

• 5+ years' reception and/or administration experience
• A friendly, positive attitude
• Confidence to make decisions and take ownership of your work
• Initiative and a practical, solutions-focused mindset — you see what needs doing and act on it
• Excellent organisation skills and the ability to manage competing priorities calmly and independently
• Great computer skills and confidence using a range of systems and software
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A high level of confidentiality, discretion and professionalism
• The ability to work independently while also being a great team player
• A genuine commitment to providing excellent service to patients and colleagues
• An interest in process improvement and finding better ways of doing things
