Our outpatient specialty clinics provide comprehensive physician services to patients across southeastern Kentucky. We serve individuals of all ages—from newborns and children to adolescents, adults, and seniors—offering care tailored to their unique needs. The patient population varies based on the availability of specialty physicians, ensuring access to expert care in areas such as cardiology, pediatrics, endocrinology, and more. These clinics are designed to deliver high-quality, specialized healthcare in a convenient outpatient setting.
Primarily responsible for greeting and interacting appropriately with patients. Providing patient redirection whennecessary, obtaining necessary consent forms and other admission or daily paperwork, informing clinicians thatpatients are present, answering the phones, scheduling patients, making reminder phone calls to patients, andperformingclerical duties as assigned. Responsible for gathering performance improvement data for assignedprograms.Mustbe highly organized and stay calm in stressful situations.
Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments accurately and efficiently.
Answer phones, relay messages, and communicate patient information toappropriate staff
Collect copayments and obtain required insurance authorizations and referrals.
Maintain scheduling systems, enter physician orders, and access electronic medical records.
Coordinate scheduling changes and communicate updates with providers and departments.
Provide clerical support whilemaintainingaccuraterecords and documentation.
Participate in required training and support departmental operations.
Follow Baptist Health policies, safety standards, infection prevention, and emergency preparedness procedures.
Requirements:
High School diploma or GEDrequired
Minimum of two (2) years of related clerical, scheduling, customer service, or healthcare office experiencerequired
