Job Description

Key Responsibilities

· Greet patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.

· Register patients and verify demographic, insurance, and billing information.

· Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.

· Answer incoming phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately.

· Maintain patient records and ensure accurate data entry into electronic medical records (EMR).

· Collect copayments and process patient payments according to established procedures.

· Coordinate with clinical staff regarding patient flow and scheduling needs.

· Verify insurance eligibility and obtain required authorizations when applicable.

· Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.

· Assist with general office duties including scanning, filing, faxing, and correspondence.

· Support a positive patient experience by addressing questions and concerns promptly.

Qualifications

Required

· High school diploma or GED.

· Minimum of 1 year of receptionist, customer service, or administrative

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard office equipment.

· Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Preferred

· Previous experience in a medical office, ambulatory surgery center, gastroenterology practice, or endoscopy center.

· Experience with EMR systems and medical scheduling software.

· Knowledge of insurance verification and healthcare registration processes.
