Receptionist Position Overview

Receptionists at Elderwood support daily operations through administrative assistance, customer service, and resident interaction. In addition to clerical responsibilities, this role serves as a welcoming presence for residents, families, visitors, and staff while helping maintain efficient communication throughout the facility.

Responsibilities

Receptionist Responsibilities

  • Answer and direct phone calls in a professional and courteous manner
  • Greet residents, visitors, and staff while providing excellent customer service
  • Perform general clerical duties including typing, filing, copying, and data entry
  • Sort and distribute mail and assist with internal communications
  • Manage basic scheduling, records, and administrative tracking systems
  • Distribute paychecks and support daily office operations as needed
  • Maintain resident confidentiality and follow all facility policies and procedures
  • Support resident needs such as delivering newspapers and assisting with approved transport
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area
  • Attend meetings and training sessions as required and assist with additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Receptionist Qualifications:

  • Experience with answering multi-line phone lines.

  • Office experience and good typing skills required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs preferred.

  • Knowledge of office machines and equipment preferred.
  • This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
