organisation

He Waka Tapu is a Kaupapa
Māori organisation who have been supporting individuals and the community for
over 30 years. He Waka Tapu works to increase the health and wellbeing of
Whānau.

About the role

The Reception Kaimahi will
provide a professional level of tautoko to all whaiora, manuhiri and kaimahi
that attend our site at 161 Pages Road.

One of our core values is
manaakitanga, which means hospitality and prioritising others' needs. This is
crucial in this role, where providing excellent support ensures that everyone
who accesses our services feels respected and prioritised.

Responsibilities
include:

  • Answering phone
    calls, emails and addressing visitors in a timely manner. 
  • Managing business
    needs, this includes stationary, equipment and other requirements as requested. 
  • Arranging and
    liaising with onsite contractors for property maintenance including sign-in register.
  • Managing room
    bookings across the entire He Waka Tapu site for both internal and
    external requests.
  • Managing fleet
    coordination, including fleet management software and the maintenance of
    He Waka Tapu vehicles.
  • Support with
    referrals and allocations processes for all whaiora accessing our
    services.
  • Additional
    administrative tasks as they arise.

Work Hours:
This is a permanent full-time role: Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (40hrs
per week)

Skills and
experience

We are looking for a
confident, grounded individual with a warm and engaging personality to join our
team. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, well presented, and
passionate about delivering exceptional service to our people. You should
possess excellent communication skills, be proficient in using a variety of
software platforms, demonstrate strong time management and organisational
abilities, and ideally have effective de-escalation skills. Experience working
in a Kaupapa Māori organisation or a similar environment would be an advantage.
