Reporting directly to the [SUPERVISOR TITLE] we are currently seeking a Receiving Clerk Level 1 for our Dayshift, to be based at our South Point, Ohio facility.

JOB DECSRIPTION

Job Title: Receiving Clerk I (Level 1)

Receives, unpacks, and stores incoming material and supplies. Uses Epicor and packing slips to

verify the accuracy of incoming shipments. Documents damages and discrepancies for reconciliation and

reimbursement.

Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday 6:00 am - 3:30 pm Friday 6:00 am - 2:30 pm

Essential Functions - Other Duties May Be Assigned.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receives, unloads, unpacks, and stores incoming materials and supplies accurately and promptly.
  • Verifies quantities and descriptions of incoming materials against packing lists, bills of lading, invoices, and other receiving records.
  • Uses Epicor and vendor packing slips to accurately record and track received materials.
  • Operates forklifts, overhead cranes, and hoists to safely unload, move, and store incoming materials.
  • Ensures received materials are properly tagged, identified, and stored in the appropriate locations.
  • Inspects incoming shipments for damage or discrepancies and assists with freight and vendor damage claims.
  • Maintains accurate inventory by completing material transactions, assisting with cycle counts, and supporting inventory maintenance.
  • Works with Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Project Managers, floor leads, and other departments to resolve receiving issues and locate materials.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe receiving and storage area, ensuring materials remain orderly and accessible.
  • Follows all IE safety requirements and Cardinal Safety Rules, contributes to a positive team environment, and identifies opportunities to improve receiving efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

Tools & Equipment

  • Safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, hoists, and basic hand tools used to load, unload, and move materials.
  • Properly care for, maintain, and store tools and equipment.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; two years of shipping and receiving experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to accurately read and interpret packing slips, invoices, bills of lading, manifests, and other receiving documents
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, problem-solving, counting, and basic math skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with vendors, Project Managers, floor leads, and other departments.

Computer Skills

  • Good computer skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Epicor, and other inventory-tracking systems

Certificates & Licenses

  • Valid driver's license.
  • OSHA forklift certification.

Safety & Teamwork

  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance and comply with all IE safety requirements and Cardinal Safety Rules
  • Maintain a positive, helpful attitude and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Willing to work overtime when necessary.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a warehouse/manufacturing environment, including around moving equipment, outdoor conditions, and other industrial conditions.
  • Ability to stand for up to 10+ hours and regularly bend, squat, stoop, reach, and move throughout the work area.
  • Ability to frequently lift/move up to 15 lbs., regularly up to 50 lbs., and occasionally up to 100 lbs., with reasonable accommodations as applicable.

Work Schedule:

Must be able to work a 40-hour work week and additional overtime as required.
