The Role: Position requires the mobility to personally interface with employees throughout the facility. Long periods of desk/computer work. Both factory office and factory plant environment, with exposure to the associated conditions of same. Working around material moving equipment.

The Morton Grove manufacturing operation is part of Xylem’s Applied Water Systems division and is a critical contributor to the divisions’ ongoing success and competitiveness in the market. Major direct materials categories include Motors, Engines, Castings, Machining & Fabrications, and Pumps which roughly total $120M in annual spend. Indirect categories include MRO, Perishable Tooling and Services with an approximate annual spend of $30M.

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

  • Manage the receiving process
  • Enter, resolve and update discrepant receipts in MERIT.
  • Maintains discrepant material reports & Metrics.
  • Maintains closure of EDI receipts / reports.
  • Sorts and prioritizes incoming correspondence. Respond to email requests in a timely manner.
  • Maintain in-house files and records.
  • Document and photograph damaged inbound material and follow established notification procedures.
  • Working with Financial Department, resolve invoicing issues.
  • Aging report and related issues, including reviewing data from hour-by-hour sheets.
  • Review and clear RMTERROR report.
  • Participation on Kaizen events.
  • Participation on Gemba Walks
  • Assist with inbound receipts.

Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

  • Two years’ experience in a logistics support role. Working knowledge of company policies and procedures. PC skills, particularly Microsoft Office and logistics support programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Demands:

  • Light lifting (20-25 lbs.), office environment
  • Regularly required to sit or stand, reach, bend and move about the facility

Work Environment:

  • Office: Manufacturing and Warehouse environment; work requires sitting or standing for long periods of time.
  • Standard weekly job hours: 40 hours
