Salary Range: $18.50 - $35.70 Hourly
Position Summary
The Receiving Clerk is responsible for the accurate receipt, inspection, documentation, and routing of inbound materials, parts, and products in a manufacturing environment. This role ensures all incoming shipments are verified against purchase orders and packing slips, properly recorded in the ERP system, and delivered to the correct internal locations. Accuracy, compliance, and timeliness are critical to prevent production delays and inventory discrepancies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive inbound shipments from carriers and internal transfers
- Verify quantities, part numbers, and condition against purchase orders and packing slips
- Inspect materials for visible damage or discrepancies and report issues immediately
- Enter receiving transactions accurately in the ERP/MRP system
- Label, tag, and identify materials per company and quality requirements
- Route received materials to inspection, stock, or production locations as required
- Coordinate with Purchasing, Quality, and Materials teams to resolve shortages, overages, or nonconformances
- Maintain organized receiving and staging areas
- File and receive documentation according to company procedures
- Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts and audits as needed
- Follow all safety, ITAR, and quality system requirements
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional coursework in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse operations preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in receiving, warehouse operations, or material control in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent)
- Basic computer skills (data entry, email, spreadsheets)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to read purchase orders, packing slips, and part labels
- Clear communication and ability to work cross-functionally
- Time management skills in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of inventory control and warehouse best practices
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Work performed in a warehouse/manufacturing environment
- Regular standing, walking, bending, and reaching
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs., with or without assistance
- Frequent use of carts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment
- Exposure to moderate noise, forklifts, and warehouse traffic
- Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required
