Job Description

Receivers are key players in ensuring our delicious products are delivered safely, accurately and efficiently. In addition to providing unparalleled guest service and supporting the Grocery Team Leader, we look to receivers to promote growth and success for the store.

  • Experience Required: 0 to 6 months
  • Experience Desired: Making bales by operating paper and plastic baler; One to two years of shipping and/or receiving experience preferred.
  • Education Desired: No High School diploma required
  • Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds
  • Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age


Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain safety as the top priority in all aspects for our Team Members, guests and products.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and clutter free backroom/receiving area of operation; perform shrink/supply audits in backroom.
  • Ensure that all third party deliveries (UPS, FedEx, etc.) are received according to the established procedures.
  • Complete and maintain proper signature logs for vendors/deliveries.
  • Ensure departments are notified of perishable deliveries in a timely fashion in order to protect maintenance of cold chain.
  • Follow established procedures for unauthorized or damaged product from vendors.
  • Maintain proper documentation and reporting for pricing discrepancies and vendor compliance violations.
  • Maintain necessary equipment for receiving purposes (power jacks, DEX, DED system), perform regular checks and maintenance and promptly report any problems for correction/repairs.
  • Manage immediate area outside of receiving room to ensure that there are no obstructions for deliveries.
  • Operate paper baler.
  • Dispose of trash by using automatic compactor.
  • Organize flats/backroom for evening crew.
  • Provide products and services that meet the requirements of internal and external customers at all times and abide by the company's statement of values.
  • Receive and process all vendor products according to company policies; perform vendor audits.
