Starting as small steel fabricators and eventually growing to have provided materials for condo projects, schools, housing developments, and more for many years. Production Worker is a key function for organizational success at Sherwood Steel Ltd. Some of the key functions include; ensuring the proper set up, operations and maintenance of rebar cutting and bending, read and interpret production orders and perform quality inspections using measuring tools. Other responsibilities include:
• Monitor machine operation, making necessary adjustments to ensure precision and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate production records, documenting completed work and any machine adjustments.
• Troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance on machines to minimize downtime.
• Follow safety protocols, ensuring a clean and organized work area to prevent hazards.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.
• Identify and pick rebar from the warehouse to fill orders.
• Maintaining a clean and safe work area and equipment used
• Rebar auto bending.
• Shear Operating
• Any additional duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent combined with prior experience in manufacturing, construction or metal fabrication setting.
• Previous experience operating rebar bending, cutting, or shearing equipment is preferred
• Strong attention to detail and ability to measure accurately.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy materials and standing for long periods, ability to lift 23 kgs (50 lbs)
• Commitment to workplace safety, keeping work area clean and tidy
• Ability to perform basic math calculations
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings would be an asset
• Preference given to those with experience in the construction, manufacturing, or steel fabrication industry
