As a Real Estate Review Lead in the Valuation Services Group (VSG), you will provide real estate valuation risk support across various business lines, ensuring compliance with appraisal policies and regulations. VSG comprises two appraisal groups: Commercial Term Lending (CTL) Appraisal and Appraisal Services Group (ASG), both staffed by experienced real estate professionals. These groups offer comprehensive valuation services, including appraisals, reviews, and evaluations for real estate transactions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Evaluate appraisals for multi-million dollar and complex residential real estate collateral in line with JPMC policies, USPAP standards, and federal regulations.
  • Manage the entire appraisal procurement and review process, including scope development, vendor engagement, and report review for compliance and credibility.
  • Maintain effective communication with vendors and internal partners to ensure timely progress and uphold appraisal independence and integrity.
  • Exercise sound judgment, proactive communication, problem-solving, and independent decision-making.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Required: State Certified Residential or Certified General License
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in performing and/or reviewing high-end residential appraisals
  • Strong analytical, writing, and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel
  • Self-motivated with efficient time management to meet deadlines.
  • Comprehensive understanding of USPAP and federal appraisal regulations.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Preferred: 4-year college degree, SRA or MAI designation (or equivalent education/experience)
  • CMS experience is a plus
