Join our Real Estate team as a Practice Coordinator located in our Washington, D.C. office.

This role will be based in our Washington, D. C. office, on a hybrid basis. Regular in-office presence is required for day-to-day operations, as well as for team meetings, training opportunities, and relationship building.

The Real Estate Practice Coordinator provides high-level practice and administrative support to attorneys in the Real Estate group. The ideal candidate will exhibit professionalism, excellent communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently. Flexibility to work overtime as needed is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Creates, edits, proofreads, and processes legal documents such as correspondence, memoranda, closing documents, and other practice-specific materials
• Demonstrates a strong understanding of attorney practices and clients, including maintaining current calendars, meetings, client contacts, and matter lists
• Serves as a primary point of contact for clients regarding administrative and billing-related inquiries
• Coordinates and tracks information requests, following up with attorneys, associates, and other team members to facilitate timely completion of client and practice-related matters
• Supports practice growth and matter management, including coordinating administrative activities associated with a high volume of client matters and conflict-related processes
• Submits conflict checks, opens new client matters, prepares engagement letters, and reviews or edits client billing invoices
• Coordinates domestic and international travel, accommodation, and entertainment arrangements for assigned attorneys
• Processes and reconciles expense reports and vendor invoices promptly and accurately
• Maintains organized legal files, both paper and electronic
• Collaborates with Administrative Support Coordinators, Paralegals, and other legal support team members as needed
• Utilizes firm resources effectively to achieve desired results
• Assists with overflow work and special projects as requested and assigned

Qualifications:

Education & Prior Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of real estate experience within a law firm or other professional services organization required

Technology
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and document management systems
• Experience with iManage and DocuSign is a plus
• Understanding of AI capabilities, limitations, and responsible use in a professional environment
• Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, firm-approved AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar platforms) to support daily workflow and/or improve work quality

Physical Requirements:


• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to move from workstation or desk throughout the work area to work independently or with a team to meet with colleagues or supervisor and retrieve work assignments
• This position may also be sedentary and require the employee to sit for extended periods of time
• Requires manual dexterity to use a phone, enter data into a computer, handle objects, and use office equipment
• Some filing is required and this would entail the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary

The expected pay range for this position is:

$53.82 to $71.79 per hour

Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full time employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, health insurance with an optional HSA, short term disability, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, 401K, vacation, sick time, and an employee assistance program. Commuter and Transit programs may also be available in certain markets.
