What You Will Do
- Maintain and grow a portable real estate practice within the Charlotte market.
- Lead transactional real estate matters, including development, financing, and capital markets transactions.
- Generate and manage client relationships while consistently meeting assigned collection goals.
- Contribute meaningful personal billable work in addition to originations.
- Collaborate across offices to leverage firmwide real estate capabilities.
- Support strategic growth initiatives and practice diversification within the office.
Ideal Candidate Background
- 8+ years of experience as a real estate attorney with a focus on development, affordable housing, or capital markets.
- Proven track record of a portable book of business typically valued at $750K–$1.5M+, with flexibility for highly experienced candidates in the $500K+ range.
- Demonstrated stable historical performance and transparent originations.
- Experience working within a collection-based compensation model.
Preferred
- Established connections within the Charlotte real estate market.
- Experience in supporting strategic growth initiatives in a law firm environment.
- Background in collaborative practice across multiple offices or teams.
