At Rayonier, we don’t just manage land; we create opportunities to maximize its long-term value. As a Real Estate Operations Coordinator, you will play an integral role in moving land sales, acquisitions, and other strategic real estate initiatives from opportunity through closing. Working across our Regional Forestry teams, Land Information Services, Business Development, Legal, and other teams, you will help keep our real estate transaction pipeline moving efficiently while ensuring the details behind every transaction are handled with precision.
You will manage assigned transactions, coordinate due diligence, support valuations and negotiations, and work directly with brokers, consultants, surveyors, attorneys, landowners, and internal stakeholders. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys combining real estate, land management, analysis, and project coordination to turn opportunities into completed transactions.
Transaction Management: Coordinate and manage assigned land sale and acquisition transactions from initiation through closing, including negotiations under management direction, timelines, milestones, internal approvals, due diligence, closing activities, and post-closing documentation.
Property Evaluation & Market Analysis: Conduct property inspections and evaluate market data, comparable sales, broker opinions, appraisals, and other valuation information to support transaction recommendations and decision-making. Maintain awareness of market and economic trends affecting timberland and rural land values.
Due Diligence & Land Information: Coordinate title reviews, surveys, appraisals, access verification, boundary inspections, environmental reviews, and closing documentation. Utilize GIS and mapping tools and partner with internal teams to ensure accurate property and mapping information.
Real Estate Operations: Support land sales processes and systems, transaction workflows, comparable sales databases, and approval packages while identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and transaction execution.
Acquisitions & Strategic Opportunities: Assist in sourcing and evaluating strategic land acquisition opportunities, including due diligence, underwriting, transaction evaluation, and coordination of internal reviews and recommendations.
Forestry & Property Assessment: Apply working knowledge of timberland management principles to transaction evaluations, including field verification and spot timber cruising when inventory information requires additional validation.
Education: A bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Real Estate, Natural Resources, or a related discipline combined with relevant transaction experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in real estate, forestry, land management, acquisitions, dispositions, or transaction-focused roles. Experience managing projects and coordinating multiple stakeholders is preferred.
Real Estate & Analytical Expertise: Strong understanding of real estate transactions, contracts, due diligence, appraisal concepts, valuation methodologies, and land evaluation principles.
Technology & Land Information: Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and working knowledge of GIS applications and spatial data analysis.
Project & Relationship Management: Strong organizational, project management, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with the ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines simultaneously.
Professional Approach: A high degree of initiative, attention to detail, follow-through, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
Mix of professional office environment and rugged field assignments.
