PROFESSIONAL PERSONNEL

JOB TITLE Reading and Math Academic Interventionist

LOCATION: West Taylor Elementary School

EMPLOYMENT TERM: 200 Days, Full-time

EFFECTIVE DATE: Upon board approval

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISORS Principal and County Curriculum Director

SALARY: Based off the Taylor County Salary Schedule located at the following link: https://www.taylorcountyboe.net/documents/departments/finance/payroll/pay-tables-and-salary-information/16836309

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Holds valid West Virginia Teacher Certification/Licensure in Elementary Education for grades K-6 or K-8 or 5-9 certification;
  • Masters in Reading Preferred
  • Demonstrates knowledge of best instructional practices/research-based intervention practices delivered in the WV Tiered System of Support (WVTSS) model;
  • Satisfactory evaluations and/or recommendations;
  • Exhibits knowledge of the duties and responsibilities as demonstrated in the personal interview;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, school personnel and parents;
  • Educational philosophy comparable with the Taylor County Board of Education philosophy, mission statement and core beliefs;
  • Ability to motivate students and get them excited about learning.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide high-quality instruction and support to students who are at risk in Reading/Language Arts and Math;
  • Maintain data-based documentation of tiered intervention training and progress monitoring;
  • Participate in progress monitoring and analysis of data to identify students in need of tiered intervention and benchmarking;
  • Maintain accurate and complete records and documentation, completed and submitted in a timely manner;
  • Work cooperatively and collaboratively with staff and parents to share knowledge, convey program goals, develop skills, and implement the intervention process;
  • Foster a classroom climate conducive to learning;
  • Other duties as assigned.
