The Global Supply Chain R&D team is looking for a highly motivated individual to work within the Applicator R&D Lab. This role independently performs and works on Teams for tasks outlined by the Applicator Leadership Team.
Job duties include contact with other employees and access to confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. This role is not remote/hybrid. This role will report to Sherwin-Williams Morikis Global Technology Center located at 6745 Miller Road, Brecksville, OH 44141.
Responsibilities include:
Technical and Professional Knowledge
• Accountable for completing lab tests, recording results, and providing feedback on results.
• Has familiarity with scientific principles, products and/or processes.
• Demonstrate and utilize basic knowledge of dimensional measurements, compliance within specifications and using computers/measuring equipment to analyze results.
• Recognizes routine requirements and selects the proper procedures for obtaining desired results to solve problems.
Project Management
• Leads individual or small group projects and begins to draw conclusions
• Creates and updates reports
• Completes proper forms
• Organizes time efficiently
Communication
• Seeks assistance on setting priorities for scheduling
• May require coaching from supervisor or mentor
Safety and Quality
• Ensures Safety, Housekeeping, and ISO practices are followed.
• Maintains certification on and follows quality standards, such as Standard Operating Procedures (ITMs)
• Actively seeks to reduce risk through corrective action of unsafe practices.
• Correctly documents lab results and technical information and maintains results accurately per ISO standards.
Basic Qualifications
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment (without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment work visa and/or permanent residence status)
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1 year of experience in a lab or manufacturing setting
• Basic math skills
• Knowledge of basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel
• Computer proficiency; Can analyze and translate scientific data/results at a basic level
Preferred Qualifications
• Basic knowledge of statistics and data analysis
• Use of calipers and other tools for validating dimensions
• Basic knowledge of (or ability to learn) drawing specifications
• Intermediate use of Microsoft Excel
• Understands basics of CAD and product specifications
