Do you want to be part of the professional R&D environment in Jotun? Then this is your opportunity! As one of our colleagues is going on parental leave we are looking for a temporary technician in R&D that will assist the chemists in developing and maintaining products by making, testing, and evaluating paint formulations to contribute to reaching the goals of the R&D plan.

You will be part of a professional and vibrant environment, and your workplace will be in our Research and Development Center located at our headquarters in Sandefjord.

The position is in Jotun Performance Coatings, as Technician in the R&D Steel Protection – Topcoat innovations department, with focus on development of new products. The position is temporary and will have a duration until 31.08.2027.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the chemist in developing, testing, and evaluating paints and raw materials according to given procedures.

• Report results continuously, in writing and orally, also create simple standard reports, to ensure that stakeholders are informed.

• Know and use of necessary safety equipment as described and to take into consideration general safety, this includes being able to understand content and the meaning of safety data sheets.

• Ensure that the necessary raw materials, packaging, and other laboratory equipment are available to ensure an effective work environment.

• Attend to the daily order in the laboratory so that the workspace is tidy, safe, and pleasant.

• Carry out other duties as assigned in the laboratory.

Formal requirements

• Vocational Certificate

• Proficient in safe use of laboratory techniques and equipment

• Proficiency in verbal and written English.

• Proficiency in MS Office 365 and TEAM/SharePoint is considered an advantage
