Job Description

This position will be a member of the R&D Product Development Team. The product development team consists of a global group of engineers and technical leaders located in Europe, North America, Mexico, Australia & China.

The R&D Project Manager is responsible for the oversight of key new product development projects and ensuring they are on schedule and budget. Responsible for overall success of function or project within multi-departments and/or cross-functional areas. May evaluate and recommend changes in methods or procedures in own area of responsibility. Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems within multi-departments, cross-functional areas, and/or contract manufacturers as needed. Ensure the Research & Development organization meets critical milestones and department goals tied to the Annual Operating plan (AOP).

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $X-Y at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Tasks and Qualifications:

What You Will do in This Role:

  • Support the definition and tracking of R&D Product Development metrics and analytics
  • Work closely with dynamic leadership team including but not limited to: Program Managers, Product Managers, Engineering Managers, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Manufacturing, Procurement, etc to resolve issues and opportunities for the R&D Product Development Team(s) regarding GOLD/MAP Process deliverables.
  • Facilitate one or more development engineering teams.
  • Be the liaison between the R&D Product Development team and external auditors, keeps track of requirements and compliance deliverables.
  • Drives product development continuous improvement activities across the organization and ensure measurable improvements are realized.
  • Experience owning project strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to R&D Management.
  • Hold the development team(s) accountable to their internal processes, and ensure all MAP deliverables and contributions are completed, on time and in alignment with the GOLD/MAP process toll gate commitments
  • Build, track, and manage project schedules in Microsoft Project or equivalent.
  • Manage cross-project dependencies, escalating to R&D Management & Program Managers as needed.
  • Provides functional or business process leadership on most projects.
  • Act as a functional or technical resource on projects or programs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with functional and other project/program managers.
  • Solves complex problems with broad business impact.
  • Ability to successfully influence stakeholders without formal authority.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Competent use of MS Office, MS Teams, and MS Project applications, Agile/Jira, SAP
  • Work with R&D Product Development product lifecycle team(s) to report on portfolio performance by identifying, analyzing, and communicating R&D PD IAS trends and issues from products/solutions
  • Plan and lead NPD processes and practices to ensure PD IAS programs and departments are aligned with Dematic’s business goals and objectives.
  • Serve as R&D Project Manager subject matter expert on cross-functional initiatives, projects, and programs internally and externally
  • Liaising with relevant internal teams and external parties to ensure the project is completed on time, within the agreed budget and to the agreed functionality
  • Strong facilitation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong communication, presentation and writing skills for all levels within an organization
  • Documented experience conducting and managing New Product Development programs with cross-functional teams globally
  • 5-10+ years of successful project management experience or equivalent for large scale programs
  • Familiarity with Lean Principles
  • Success leading teams, with a collaborative style, and aptitude in team facilitation.
  • Experience in distributed work environments or international business setting
  • Outstanding team building skills with the ability to improve interaction and efficiency as well as the ability to break down barriers and silos
  • Engineering or other applicable technical degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Systems Engineering).
  • Program Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Travel Dematic office locations, local and International potentially traveling up to 10%.
