We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical R&D Process Engineering Technician to join our organization in Alajuela, Costa Rica. In this role, you will support the research and development team by optimizing manufacturing and production processes, conducting technical experiments, and ensuring quality standards are met. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, technical proficiency, and a commitment to continuous process improvement.

  • Assist in the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing and production processes
  • Conduct laboratory experiments and technical tests to evaluate process efficiency and product quality
  • Collect, analyze, and document experimental data using appropriate software and tools
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation in accordance with established protocols
  • Troubleshoot process issues and identify root causes using analytical problem-solving techniques
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation for process improvements and findings
  • Support the implementation of process improvements and quality assurance initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate R&D projects and meet project timelines
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and company procedures
  • Utilize CAD software and process modeling tools to visualize and communicate design concepts
  • Monitor and track key performance indicators related to process efficiency and product quality

Qualifications

**Required Skills & Competencies:**

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation
  • Technical writing and documentation skills
  • Proficiency with CAD software and process modeling applications
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and testing procedures
  • Laboratory equipment operation and maintenance expertise
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

**Required Experience:**

  • 2-4 years of experience in process engineering, manufacturing, or R&D environment
  • Demonstrated experience with process optimization and improvement methodologies
  • Familiarity with manufacturing or chemical production processes

**Required Education:**

  • Associate degree or diploma in Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related technical field

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent process improvement certification
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis software
  • Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
  • Previous experience in a regulated manufacturing environment
