Job Duties

Duties:

Responsibilities include: Act as a project lead by establishing development plans and preparing for design reviews; guide others on engineering tools, test specifications and assess application of Health, Safety, and Environment techniques during the design process; apply and interpret engineering calculations to obtain design solutions and troubleshoot erroneous results; define input requirements and develop functional specifications by utilizing basic statistical methods and reliability techniques; contribute to Halliburton's Intellectual Property portfolio by delivering innovative and commercially successful solutions; create an impactful relationship with Halliburton's technical community, customers, and vendors by proactively collaborating with key stakeholders; participate in professional societies in area of specialization.

Qualifications

Requirements: Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a R&D Mechanical Engineer, Senior-related occupation.

Position requires experience in the following:

  1. Experience in SolidWorks (or equivalent CAD software) and Microsoft Office, used for 3D modeling, Drafting, FEA (Finite Element Analysis), Documentation Creation and project management.
  2. Experience with electro-mechanical designs, reliability testing HALT, (Highly Accelerated Life Testing), QALT (Quantitative Accelerated Life Testing, ESS (Environmental Stress Screening, vibration testing), and troubleshooting microcontroller-based systems with products that are electro-mechanical and need to be qualified prior to being sold and delivered to market.
  3. Experience with project management tools including Microsoft Project to plan, track, and allocate materials, timelines, and personnel in order to keep engineering projects on schedule and within budget.
  4. Experience with industry standards such as API (American Petroleum Institute), ISO (International Organization for Standardization), or AWES (Advanced Well Equipment Standards).
  5. Experience drafting and managing technical documentation, project reports, and updates for strategic meetings.
