Job Base Location- Loni Kalbhor, Pune

About the Role

We are looking for a talented and innovative R&D Mechanical Engineer to join our Power Capacitor development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the mechanical design, development, validation, and continuous improvement of power capacitor products used in industrial, renewable energy, traction, and power electronics applications

What you will be doing:

Design and develop mechanical assemblies and components for power capacitor products.

Create and maintain 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, specifications, and BOMs.

Perform mechanical calculations related to structural integrity, thermal performance, vibration, and tolerance analysis.

Support New Product Development (NPD) activities from concept to production release.

Conduct design verification, validation, reliability, and environmental testing.

Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Collaborate with electrical, manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and global R&D teams.

Evaluate and qualify new materials, suppliers, and manufacturing processes.

Drive cost reduction and product optimization initiatives.

Ensure compliance with IEC, UL, and customer standards.

Prepare technical reports, design documentation, and engineering change requests.

What will you bring along:

Full time bachelor's or master’s degree in mechanical engineering from reputed university.

Minimum 3–5 years of experience in product design and development.

Experience in power capacitors, passive components, power electronics, transformers, switchgear, or similar industries preferred.

Strong knowledge of:

o Sheet metal design

o Mechanical packaging and enclosure design

o Thermal management

o Insulation systems

o Manufacturing and assembly processes

Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, NX, CATIA, or Inventor.

Good understanding of GD&T, DFMEA, Design Reviews, and engineering documentation.

Experience in design validation and reliability testing.

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of capacitor construction and materials.

Experience with FEA and thermal simulations.

Familiarity with IEC 61071, IEC 60831, UL, or equivalent standards.

Exposure to APQP, PPAP, and product qualification processes.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
