You will work in a dynamic R&D environment, gain exposure to international laboratories, and collaborate with professionals across engineering, standardization, and testing functions.

As an R&D Mechanical Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, and validation of air‑insulated high-voltage disconnectors, with a primary focus on the structural and mechanical components of the product.

You will work closely with R&D Project Managers, supporting both new product introduction (NPI) and cost‑out initiatives, ensuring robust, optimized, and reliable mechanical solutions.

Product Development & Validation

  • Support R&D Project Managers in product development and validation activities.
  • Produce and manage 2D drawings and 3D CAD models.
  • Investigate alternative materials and explore innovative manufacturing technologies.
  • Perform mechanical validation of main disconnector components, including calculations and FEM structural analysis
  • Conduct cost analyses and propose manufacturing optimization improvements.

Testing & Certification:

  • Participate in type test witnessing — both in internal accredited laboratories and external global facilities.
  • Prepare test procedures, test instructions, and technical documentation.
  • Support the emission of type test dossiers for internal or external stakeholders.
  • Perform risk assessments, including FMEA analysis

Support to R&D Operations:

  • Contribute to daily coordination of R&D activities in collaboration with the R&D Leader.
  • Ensure effective communication with internal teams: R&D, Standardization, Laboratory, Engineering, and Sales.
  • Engage with external stakeholders: customers and accredited laboratories.

PROFILE:

  • Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in mechanical engineering or within an R&D department.
  • Knowledge and practical experience with 2D and 3D CAD software
  • Basic understanding of FEM analysis
  • Good command of English (written and spoken).
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and production technologies.
